Photographer's Note

The corridor linking the Western and Eastern parts of the National Gallery of Art, in Washington, DC.

Cropped, increased sharpness & brightness, applied slight retouches.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for Bulent Bey, who always enrich other members' posts with interesting remarks and links. Beautiful additional notes by Batalay follow. :

"... a light show designed by Leo Villareal, an artist from New York, (where) the passageway glitters with 41,000 light-emitting diodes (LED), inserted into the channels between its aluminum slats, creating a mesmerizing light show. The ever-changing pattern of lights are meant to mimic the universe (or still better multi-universes). The lights turn on and off in a choreographed manner, and create a swirling waves across the surface, and a suggestion of “twinkling stars, rushing water and bouncing polka dots.” What becomes clear in watching the patterns, however, is the random order in the patterns."
