This picture has been taken during a visit to a friend in these area.
Torhout a small city in West Flanders on 15km of the Belgian coast, three or four year ago was I here on the same place, I took these picture with a new camera (Canon Mark II) and other lens than then.

Neo-gothic castle: the Castle d'Aertrycke, surrounded by meadows in an area with a park pond.
The Château d'Aertrycke is a castle in the Belgian city of Torhout. From 1868-1871, the neo-Gothic castle built by August the Maere, the castle bears popularly then still called the Maeres castle. It is located between the center of Torhout, Wijnendale and in Aartrijke.
The castle is located in a romantic garden with a pond, meadows and forests. Part of this area is a West-Flemish provincial domain and is open to the public.
A lot artist come here make a painting, or simple enjoy of the nature.
Today the castle is a luxury hotel / conference center and restaurant (restaurant and hotel built in 1990, realized in 1996 by the former organizers of the Rock Torhout festival).
