Photographer's Note

Ancient monastery of the Repose of the Virgin in small town Staritza was founded in 1100-s.
Lot of the works here were performed during the reigh of the local Prince - brother of Ivan the Terrible, Andrey. Andrey was incarcerated and died of hunger by the order of his dark brother, as Ivan was afraid of his legitimacy towards the throne - quite a usual thing among the feudal rulers, may I add.
Here one can see the Uspensky Cathedral (in the middle, made in years 1503-1537), Church of Theotokos (to the right, built by Ivan the Terrible in year 1570), Bell-Tower (pink one, built in 1685), Trinity Church (to the left, made in year 1821), and finally some brick chapel, obviously erected already in XXI century.
Quite a complex, may I say, of the different ages and styles.
