Photographer's Note

Opposed to other beaches in Cuba where one can only find tourists, Playas del Este is very popular among the habaneros, who can frequently enjoy these warm waters thanks to their closeness to the city.
With 8 kilometers of good quality sand, Santa María del Mar is the longest beach of the north littoral of Havana. In Santa María del Mar, tourists can enjoy catamaran rides, rent jet skis, sail boats, rowboats and explore its many other attractions.

A differenza di altre spiagge a Cuba dove si possono trovare solo i turisti, Playas del Este è molto popolare tra i habaneros, che spesso possono godere di queste calde acque, grazie alla loro vicinanza alla città.
Con 8 km di sabbia di buona qualità, Santa María del Mar è la più lunga spiaggia del litorale a nord di L'Avana. A Santa María del Mar, i turisti possono godere di gite in catamarano, moto d'acqua, barche a vela, barche a remi ed esplorare le sue molte altre attrazioni.

Buongiorno Luciano,
You mentioned the sand, and I must say it is really wonderful sand along the beach.
Photo with the palm in mid-pic., is divided between the blue-tourquise sea, and yellow sea-shore, and blue sky aloft.

una bella escena de las aguas turquesa del Caribe, con las dos personas en la playa bajo las sombras del cocotero, que nos dan un poco de envidia.
Buena estructura del encuadre y de la composición, con el cocotero centrado y una persona a cada lado, creando una imagen con una elegante simetría natural, y con un fondo donde el cielo y el mar juegan un enorme rol estético.

J'aime beaucoup l'idée. Il faut dire que le feuillage n'est pas bien large et donne un minimum d'ombre, mais il y en a suffisamment pour deux.

cette image avec l'arbre en plein centre ne m'attirait pas trop dans la vignette, c'est vrai
Elle prend tout son sens (et le titre avec) lorsqu'on l'ouvre et que l'on voit les 2 personnes bien à l'abri de l'ombre au sol, de part et d'autre du tronc
Très drôle et la couleur du ciel et de l'eau donnent envie

ma chi l'ha detto che tutti quelli che vanno al mare si rosolano al sole? meno male una foto che sfata una leggenda metropolitana, con questi due, ognuno dentro il proprio "cono" d'ombra :-)Ma quando il sole gira loro inseguono l'ombra delle palme? belli però, sembrano sdraiati su una stella. bella e simpatica, con colori da sogno.

Se dovessi venire a Milano e farti una sorpresa, rischierei che la sorpresa a farmela saresti tu perchè chissà in quale parte del mondo saresti :))

Che bellezza. Questa scena e' semplice ma molto artistica. Abiamo tre alberi per il prezzo di uno. E ombra per tut e du. Stupendi i colori naturali e la nitidezza. Mammamia, vedi i colori del mare...che bel sogno. Beata te! E complimenti per una foto ottima e rillassante.

Haha, you like the beaches, everywhere you look for sand, palms and sea. I like it too, but one day in month trip is usually enough. Similar like Ngapali, beautiful colour of water (warm probably). But there instead of lying in shadow I preferred to go to the village.

La distance entre le palmier et l'horizon donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails les couleurs de ce paysage tropical. La qualité de la lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bon weekend.

Just the sort of picture we need to cheer us up during a cold and grim February!

A beautiful yet simple composition, the shadows of the palm trees falling serendipitously on the two little piles of belongings but the single tall tree making a strong statement. Beautiful layers of pale sand, deep blue/green sea and a clear blue sky with just a smattering of fluffy white clouds.

Saluti mon cher ami,
une photo très tropicale, vraiment faite pour nous remonter le moral, j'ai moi même passé un hiver en République Dominicale, sous plus de 30°C agréable pour passer cette saison.
Je trouve l'arbre un peu trop centré, mais il fallait bien montrer cette disposition des éléments dans l'ombre des feuilles.
