Photographer's Note

Rissani is a town in eastern Morocco, located near Erfoud.
It is in the region of Er-Rachidia, on the edge of the Erg Chebbi (picture yesterday), the largest sand desert in Morocco.
The region of Rissani is made up of a cluster of villages along the last stretch of the Ziz valley.
From the 8th until the 14th century this was the ancient Berber capital of a kingdom, known as Sijilmassa.
Sijilmasa became very wealthy through trade with Ghana, above all through the exchange of luxury items from the Mediterranean for gold
