Photographer's Note

My last Sunset, I hope I can stick to this assurance. I’m so fortunate in living where I do, this shot is the view from the back of my house. Each evening throughout the seasons I get to see the sun set over the hills in the background, consequently, I have hundreds and hundreds of sunset shots, I just can’t help myself. I try to sit and enjoy the moment and not take shots, but the shutter god whispers in my brain and that’s it, digital heaven takes over. Maybe I should get some help, therapy sessions with someone who hates sunsets might be the cure. Is there an AA chapter for sunset addicts, I need help. I started my rehab this afternoon, I thought I’d go through my sunset folder and clear it out, oops, big mistake, major withdrawals’, warning, warning. As hard as I tried I couldn’t bring myself to delete this one. I shot this a couple of months ago on a dead calm winter afternoon, I’d taken about twenty shots as the sun went down, addiction calmed, time to relax. Then, in the distance I heard the sound of an outboard motor and knew a small runabout was coming in my direction, camera ready, snap, gotcha, hah, thought you’d get past without me knowing. I’m a sick puppy. Hope you enjoy my last sunset, sorry, gotta go, the sun is setting.
