Photographer's Note

I sat by the water’s edge at Narrabeen Lake on Sydney’s Northern Beaches for about forty five minutes watching these two men in their rubber boat. They tried every which way and that to catch a fish, but no luck. They did manage to dispose of quite a number of cans of beer, (part of the ritual of fishing) which I’m sure eased the pain of no fish. I was hoping they would stay a few moments more so that the sun could drop below the horizon, when they started the boat I thought, yes, they’ll move across to the right so the sun isn’t in shot, but they made a U-turn and…………they were off home.
