Photographer's Note
Despite the mixed weather this weekend, we went on a wee camping trip around Loch Lomond. Yesterday the Sun was trying its hardest to shine and, making the best of the weather, we went on a wee trip to Luss, a small village which has previously been made famous by the long-running but now axed TV show "Take The High Road".
Although the scenery here is wonderful, I don't think it makes for particularly exciting photography. I was snapping away at the usual tourist landmarks without finding anything too inspiring. All of a sudden, this young chap shot in to view from nowhere and made for the most interesting shot of the day! He was soon followed by his friends, but this shot remains my favourite from the short, impromptu photoshoot.
Very little was done in post-processing. Levels were edited slightly and the image cropped to place the subject in a slightly more interesting location in the photo.

Hello Jamie,
Well this one's a cracker!
You have placed this courageous fellow perfectly in the frame - at the upper left crossing point of thirds. So what if the horizon isn't on a dividing line of thirds - it doesn't matter here because the horizon is almost irrelevant. At least you can see the distant view, you can see from where he propelled himself and you can see the icy waters he is about to enter too.
1/1000 sec has very effectively stopped all movement and he's a sharp as pin too. Did you have to "up" the ISO to get such a fast shutter speed?
One of which to be proud in my opinion!
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.

Very cool photo of a child jumping into a lake. The framing is good and with the inclusion of the deck I don't know how you could have made this different except that I wish the subject of the photo had something he was jumping into instead of jumping off the side of the frame. If this makes sense I hope it does. A good photo I'd of just placed the subject further to the right within the shot but that would've excluded the deck/pier which also adds significance to the picture. Good shot.
