Photographer's Note

Leamanagh Castle riuns are an interesting gothic pile stuck onto a tower house. It was built around 1480, probably by Turlogh Donn, one of the last of the High Kings of Ireland and a direct descendant of Brian Boru. The castle used to be the home of a very fiery lady by the name of Maire Rua. She is said to have either thrown her 3rd husband out of one of the windows in the castle or forced him to ride his horse over the nearby Cliffs of Moher.
