Photographer's Note

The Ouse Valley Viaduct enables a rail link to cross the river valley between Haywards Heath and Balcombe in Sussex.

Built in 1841 and restored in 1996, the Grade II Listed structure carries over 100 trains each day. Its 37 arches are pierced, allowing the walker (and photographer) a unique viewpoint of the 11 million bricks from which it was constructed.
