Photographer's Note

This Saint Nicholas church built in 1794 is an architectural monument and is rated among the top-100 cultural sights of Ukraine. It was designed by Nikolay Lvov as the burial-vault of Kochubeys family, who possessed of the village of Dikanka before 1917. The church is situated at the outskirts of Dikanka, a kilometer's walk from the Dikanka’s triumphal arch.

After the revolusion of 1917 the church was closed and opened several times. Since 1963 it was used as an atheistic museum, and since 1985 it was a department of the state historical and regional museum. On July 16 1989 the church was reopened and consecrated again.
