Photographer's Note

The first time I visited Budapest 14 years ago, the city was invaded by Serbs illegal immigrants fleeing the ethnic conflicts in Yugoslavia, the shelves of stores were empty and the few loaves of bread and croissants available in bakeries were stale.

Still, this city made a great impression on me and I was looking forward to see it again under different conditions.

When I was back this year, Budapest was a metamorphosed, magnificent world-class city, booming with tourists, luxury boutiques, fashionable restaurants and a very efficient public transport system.

Definitely one of my favorite cities in Europe.
