Photographer's Note

We drove north to Aberdeenshire to let the New Year in with my son and his family. We always take the A93 through Glen Shee as we never tire of its scenic beauty. There's been a thaw and so the lower slopes have lost most of their covering of snow. However the ski centre was buzzing with skiers and their colourful clothing stood out against the white and dun of the mountainside.Deer could be seen outlined against the sky on the high tops.Passing places are few but we managed to stop here for me to take a quick shot.
We had planned to visit earlier in december to deliver Christmas presents but these had to be sent by post as Aberdeenshire received the worst (or best) of the heavy snowfall. When we travelled up here over the Christmas period last year, the snow gates were closed behind us and on our return journey south we were forced to drive east, towards Stonehaven and then via Dundee in swirling snow.
Happy New Year to my TE friends.
