Photographer's Note

Originally, the doorway was the casa's only ornamentation. On its own, it appears overdone or overwrought, considering the width of the structure. Busts, possibly of family members, appear near the top of the frame - a male to the left, female to the right. In the centre, there is a figure bent over, as though carrying the weight of the entire world. Down the jambs, heads peak out of circles, again possibly family members of a more youthful sort. This fašade is unique in that it has been preserved intact since its creation, and intriguing passersby. The top portion (the balcony upwards) is the work of Maya sculptors.
