Photographer's Note

For my vacation in the Yucatan, I intended to concentrate on the Maya sites of the Puuc route. Yes, there were another four sites I intended to photograph as well; and eventually, in the fullness of time, the results shall be uploaded DV. With this in mind, I stayed at a hotel in Mérida, within the range of easy commuting. I would alternate; one day out of town, the next day in town. I made sure to undertake a lot of walking to maintain basic fitness, including from the hotel to the historical centre. On this particular day, I spotted some row housing just south of the Hotel El Conquistador and its parking lot. I had no sooner entered the lot to achieve my desired POV, when some guy exited a building (House #5) waving his arms and shouting "No Photos". I retreated to the sidewalk of the Paseo and, from under the shade of a tree, took this photograph of four of the five row houses, as much as I could see. I liked the colours and the style - appearing more Dutch than Spanish. I would not want to hazard a guess as to their age. Once the aggressive arm waver had retreated, I photographed what I could see of the fifth house (tomorrow).
