Photographer's Note
I was doing the tourist thing of enjoying the sights of this Mexican City when I spied this dear little girl with her sad empty face - sitting " as she is " in the doorway of an interesting & terribly run down building.
This sad little face has haunted my mind & has made a huge impact on my life.

Hello Dawn,
Thank you so much for your critique. I am happy to have an opportunity to visit your gallery. She is very well dressed but look sad. Maybe the parents scolded her for something she did . From a photographer's point of view, this is a very nice shot showing her emotions very well. Like the colors and sharpness.

Just imagine what would be if this cute, than sad, girl - will see her on your pic., in few years time, Dawn, I am sure she will be happy to see this magnificent take on her childhood.
An excelent portrait, face expression as main subject.

Hi Dawn,
Very sad indeed ! I wonder why !
Looks to me she is locked out of her house. Waiting for her parents who are not coming . There is an old look on that little face. Not fair ! She should be laughing and playing.
She must be about 20 by now. I hope life has smiled to her better than on that day.
Great realistic capture.
Kind regards.
Marie-Louise.

Hi Dawn,
The image may be blurred a little, but that is not important at all - you got a great moment - a great capture. There is always something very rewarding in capturing people around the world.
Cheers

Hi Dawn !
Thanks for this moment of saddness. I think we all need to keep such image in front of our eyes, not forgetting about those less fortunate. We also mustn't take anything for granted and constantly remind ourselves to be caucious in regard of any future predictions, for the life is unpredictable...
Lovely portrait, even when it lacks a bit of sharpness, still a great presentation, thanks for sharing.

really she was very sad ! your composition is fantastic. the girl is very well positioned and even the addornments in the door are very nice here.excellent light, sharpness wasn't so perfect, maybe because you had few time to get the focus. anyway a marvelous sample of human life.

Hello Dawn, very attractive picture and sensitive at the same time showing all the innocence and yet the beauty of this "little lady"!
Great expression capture and very natural portrait with the extraordinary highlight of her wearing a neclace!
Nicely done,

I just found this image today -- how wonderful a capture! Her turned-down mouth belies some great upset, but we may never know what it is! And like Mona Lisa's smile, it pulls attention from a terrific backdrop -- the classic colonial stoop and the wonderful wooden door!
Mexico... What a wonderful place!
