Photographer's Note

I walked through the vault of the South Palace to the platform. At the top of the stairs, I took in the view to the south. Immediately ahead is the Ball Court. Centre, above the court, and up some steps, is the northern doorway to the House of the Turtles. Then, top left, sitting up high and proud, is the north wing of the Palace of the Governor. Top right, peaking through the foliage, there is the Great Pyramid and Temple. In its prime, the heart of Uxmal was surrounded by a wall. It is not known precisely what happened. There may have been conflict and today little of the wall remains save for ruins.
