Photographer's Note

Sayil, itself, dates from about 800 - 1000 CE. Its most outstanding feature is the palace, and I will have a number of uploads for TE members. The oldest sections are to the west and south of the complex. Originally, these were independent sections, later incorporated into the overall building. This is the west side reminding us that the palace is of three storeys, with the second enjoying the most elaborate decoration, in the Puuc style. The palace is situated at the north end of the site, on a west to east axis. Geo coordinates for Google Earth are: and with elevation at 69 metres.
