Photographer's Note

The south entrance to the nave of the church is accessed from a promenade that used to be Calle 69 (portion thereof). The promenade separates the church from the Park, immediately to the south of the church. At one time there was a bullfighting ring in the park but this was phased out in 1910 CE. The ring was replaced by a statue of Benito Juarez. The area offers numerous benches and shade for the hot weather in Mérida.
