If not on the way in, then on the way out!

Around 1200 CE, Chichén Itzá began to decline in importance. There may have been contention among and between the élites. To the west some 90 kilometres, Mayapan began to assume a more dominant role in northern Yucatan. I will upload photos from Mayapan in due time, but for now, I will be giving attention to 6 of the 7 main archaeological sites comprising the Puuc sierrita south of here.
