Photographer's Note

Cenote Ik Kil is a perfectly round, well-type cenote with an diameter of 60m and a depth of 40m.

A cenote is a deep water-filled sinkhole in limestone that is created when the roof of an underground cavern collapses. This creates a natural pool which is then filled by rain and underground rivers.

I was a little scary when I was going to jump into the water, because there was nobody, and the water was so dark, and many fishes were swimming into...

But I was proud and I swam with them!!

If you are going to visit it, remember to go there quite early, before 11 am, because after this time lots of tourist are coming from chitchen itza (it is far about 2 km), and so you miss the magic atmosphere that fortunately I could feel here!!
