Photographer's Note

The City Hall is located at the north end of the Plaza Civica. It features a statue of General Joaquin Miguel Gutiérrez Canales (1796 - 1838 CE). He was the person instrumental in bringing Chiapas into the Mexican federation, and was the first governor of the state. The city was renamed after him 31/5/48 - Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
