Photographer's Note

San Rafael, and other towns in this region, received French immigrants in the early 19th century, after the Mexican independence, so that their influence can be seen on many details, such as at the top of this tower, and in many surnames.Interestingly, many of these immigrants, or their sons, fought the French army, alongside the Mexicans, in 1862.
