Photographer's Note

The reservation of the Biosphere swamps of Centla.

I took this picture in the Development Ecoturístico "Punta Manglar". It is a cayman, sustained by the guide of the place, I asked him him to elevate their body to be able to capture their head with the bottom of the clouds and the beautiful blue sky of this day.

This place is perfect to carry out activities of flora observation and fauna, as well as walks for paths through the swamp.
The Swamps of Centla are an important natural reservation.

These swamps constitute one of the richest and exuberant marshy ecosystems with the one that Mexico counts.

Due to their importance for the preservation of numerous endemic species of the area, as the jaguar, the crocodile, the manatí, the howling monkey, the ocelot and the jaribú, to mention some, their more than 300 thousand hectares were declared Protected Natural Area by the federal government in the year of 1987 and like Reservation of the Biosphere in 1992.

This complex hydrological net that includes to the rivers Usumacinta, San Pedro and San Pablo, also, consists of bodies lagunares.
