Photographer's Note
This was also taken in the clinic I worked at in a small village near Zacapoaxtla in Puebla. Because it was a clinic run by Christians and American doctors, nurses and surgeons for several days, healthcare was free on a first come first served basis. People queued for long hours and overnight.
I took this photograph shortly after this mother and son had been seen by a doctor. The child was fine, it had simply never been checked by a doctor before because of the expense.
I like this shot of the mother and son with all four eyes on the camera.

Hola Bethel
I really like your album, but if I had to choose one of them, It would be this one, I like the freshness of this image, this simplicity, what it offers and makes me feel, is quite a lot, very good job ;-)

Hi Elizabeth. A nice double portrait of mom and child in front of the simple brick wall; good how the two pairs of eyes are establishing contact (rapport, even) with you. Did you do something with the colors - the blue tones seem quite vibrant whereas the other channels appear slightly pale. But overall I like this simple but endearing daily-life scene.

Elizabeth,
That's a very classical portraiture, but classical painters, since the pose reminds of famous paintings, wouldn't have portrayed the mother the way she looks actually. That's the strength of your version. That of the truth, despite colors that are too bland, though I see the effect was sought after.
The clear-cut contrast between shade and light provides sharpness in character, had the photo not been enough it would have fixed it at best. The eyes of the woman tell us much about her baby's future. And it's a powerful way of telling stories.
Awaiting much from you, regards F'

Interesting colors, good ambiance to take a portrait. Good details, and models are good.
