Photographer's Note

Emerald Lake has to be my second favourite lake that I visited in the Canadian Rockies. It is such a beautiful setting, dominated on all sides by towering mountains.

I set out around the lake early one morning to capture this shot. I really liked the pairing going on here - the mountain and reflection, the tree triangle and reflection and the two logs in the foreground. The reason I havent uploaded this one before is because I didnt like the log on the left. Against all the pairing it stands out like a sore thumb. But when viewed large (maybe too small here) the tree stump isnt such a problem at all as you can make out the details of it. Its just in the smaller shot it looks a bit odd. Still, I decided to upload the image as I really like the rest of the shot.
