Floating Down the Stream

As you could already see in my previous photo, there were a lot of boaters on the Bow River in Calgary, enjoying the sunny Sunday afternoon. Apparently the summer hadn’t been very good until then, so they really took this opportunity for a relaxing day on the water. The Bow River has quite a strong current, so most people used inflatable boats and just floated down the river, although some people wanted to get some exercise as well. I took all four photos while standing on Peace Bridge.

Hi Lars,so the peace bridge is a good point of view to take pis of people floating in the water. Nice idea this collage,rich and colorful and made in the usual top quality,original and different composition,i like it! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hello Lars,

This is a lovely and most engaging composite image of one canoe and three inflatable boats and their respective occupants seemingly having a relaxing time on the Bow River. It looks as though they are all having fun and so I'm immediately reminded of the little song:

"Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream...…"

As always, you have captured all four of these images perfectly with good light, fine colours and exceptional technical quality.

Nauticari koriste lep suncan dan da uzivaju u voznji camcem.
Lepo pokazano sa vise fotografija, dobro uhvacen trenutak.
Dobar tekst o koriscenoj tehnici i elementima snimka.
Kod nas je za vikend bio totalan karantin sa zabranom izlaska, bio je policiski cas.

Fyra fina bilder av människor som verkligen ser ut att njuta av den fina dagen på floden. Som vanligt är det så mycket lättare att upptäcka detaljerna och de individuella särdragen på den större versionen. Mannen i fören på kanoten ser ut att ha en svensk flytväst. ;-)

This montage of shots shows a whole range of different groups making the most of the sunshine and the river. Maybe some serious rowers, some family experiences, some friendly get-togethers and just a wonderful place to sunbathe!

Maar heen van de vier beelden geeft een beeld met kracht

Two of the boats look a little crowded in my opinion!

Hello lars, Fantastic view of these colourful boats and people in their also colourful life jackets. From this picture, we can't say if the current was strong or not. In Bali, I went for rafting in such a boat. It was fun. we were quite wet after the rapids.

Lars, excellent collage presenting some activities possible on the Bow river in summer. The different crews use inflatable boats or canoe to navigate. Everybody wears life jackets. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

This must be your last note with links and bold letters. It looks like all the HTML markups are being rejected by TE now. Yet another decline. You probably realize I depend on HTML markups to format my notes, I felt so disappointed with my last upload that I have not uploaded anything new today. If I could find another site with a community like that of TE's, I would jump ship. But alas, the closest site to TE, Photofolia, is closing soon. We were told we have until April 22 to download all our photos from there.

Een schitterend vierluik van een inmiddels verboden activiteit. Het was heerlijk wandelen hier langs de rivier.
Dit is natuurlijk niet de “nattigheid” waarmee Justin op het ogenblik het nieuws mee heeft gehaald.

Hello Lars,
4 interesting floaters - 1 down the stream ( 1st pic-relaxing ) and 3 up the stream ( rest-paddling ). In term of safety, I would rather have the canoe - fastest and easy to paddle. Good job for putting all together in one frame.
In Breda , we've an event called 'Breda Drijft'. Not for exercise more for 'bezuipen'.
