Photographer's Note

Pointe-au-Père lighthouse played a primordial role in the history of navigation on the St-Lawrence River. Even if the lighthouse was not been used since 1975, it still de 2e highest lighthouse in Canada with 128 steps to climb up to reach the top. Since then, it was replaced by a metallic tower we can see in the background of the lighthouse. This tower now uses electronic devices to guide the boat on the river. This national historic site is a remarkable witness to our maritime past.
