Photographer's Note

Sometimes one need look no further than one's own backyard, so to speak, for places to take great images. This shot is taken over the Fraser River near where I live, with partially obscured Mount Cheam as a backdrop. The water levels in the river are at their lowest this time of year, so access to this spot is possible. The late afternoon sun cast heavy shadows along the trees, but the reflections were stunning in the calm water. This was only my second time out with my new D300s, but it's already proving to be a camera more than worthy of a place alongside the trusty D80 in my camera bag.
