Photographer's Note
This is the eighth pic in my A Walk Down Main Street series. I ask that you view the series in order please (if you're so inclined of course!). The street has a story. Cheers!

So on the other side of the street from Science World is this industrial zone. Pretty empty of people there, usually just cars speeding through trying to avoid the busy intersection ahead.
Let's get out of here.

Post-pro: different items were selected: levels, curves, saturation were changed seperately of each.
***on a personal note, this is one of my favourite shots of the series... hope some of ya like it too ;-)

Hi Alex,
As I can see your style gets more and more complicated for me...I have to study harder I think...:)
well this pic is a little bit strange since combines in so simple way two completely opposite things: 1.beauty of the girl and 2.ungliness of the industrial landscape...that why i like it..because of its controversy...

You have an interesting theme for this photo with, likeness and difference both combining and separating the main elements that are the billboard and the building on the right. As noted by Enia the girl is beautiful (I agree ;-) and the building is ugly (I don't agree 100% there) but at the same the billboard showing the girl is even uglier and the building has it's own kind of "desolate-chic". And both the building and the billboard (and the girl) was/is tools of capitalist exploitation (ahem). So there is some "meat" here, but unfortunately I find the composition a little weak with the lower right quarter not giving anything to the image, at least not in my opinion.
I tried with a bit of cropping but it didn't work, it would take a slightly different viewpoint in the first place to balance the billboard and the building without much else in the frame.
To end on a (deserved) positive note, I like the way the vertical lines in the billboard and the electrical wires in the sky ties these two parts of the image together.
