Photographer's Note

For those which never heard spoken about Inukshuk, will know that this symbol will become famous in the whole world... in 2010! Why? Because it was selected as official logo for the next Winter Olympics which will proceed at Vancouver (and Whistler) during the winter 2010.
Inuksuk is a stone sculpture evoking a human silhouette, in the beginning they were Inuits of the Arctic Canadian which built them in order to carry out reference marks in their immense territory. Gradually this symbol makes competition in Canada with the traditional maple sheet... it became the symbol of fraternity and solidarity.
It already appears this summer on all the memories suggested for tourists.
Here, on this photo one sees Inukshuk which throne in Vancouver at English Bay, it is the work of Alvin Kanak and was carried out for the exposure of 1986.
