Photographer's Note
Yet another shot from Supernatural BC's West Coast. It was a fairly drab and dreary day as Paul Enn's (PJE) and myself explored the coastline on the outskirts of Ucluelet on Vancouver Island.
I had my 'Bigma' (Sigma 170-500mm) attached when I happened to come across this composition. I metered for the brightest part of the picture so as to not burn out any detail, thus also helping to darken up the foreground trees and rocks. I further darkened up the foreground with the burn tool in Photoshop CS3.
I hope you like the shot,
- Dan

Hello Dan,
Is always nice to see images from the beautiful province. The trees hanging from the cliff remind me of a Japanese scene. Very effective framing and use of silhouettes to enhance the feeling in this image. NIce work Dan.

Nicely done Dan. The small rock on the far left counter balances the dark area on the right. You have captured the mood of the day very well.

Hi Dan,
A very impressive black and white of our wonderful west coast. Excellent contrasts and I think the tall tree on the right is a great focal point and balances the shot nicely. Well done and TFs. Gerald

Great graphic shot Dan! The silhoette of the rocks and tree in the foreground works very well because they seem to wrap around the scene and provide a natural frame. Nice work!
