Photographer's Note

Night exposure of Telegraph Cove boardwalk. The evening exposure at dusk brought interesting colors to this town. The saw blade sign Rip Tide Tours was the company that offered the Grizzly Bear sight seeing tour. Because the boat leaves at 7 am we came up the previous day to get a feel of the place, and afforded me the opportunity for some photos.
Telegraph Cove is a small town on the east side of Vancouver Island about 2 hours north of Campbell River. In the early 1900's it was thriving in the lumber industry and a very busy fishing cannery. The 1970's brought a transition making this place an attractive tourist location. There is plenty of activity for water sports and outdoor enthusiasts including whale watching, fishing and kayaking. Joining in our tour group was a family from Australia and many tourists from Germany.
On the boardwalk you will see many carts and little wagons which are used to haul food and supplies for all the businesses. These old buildings along here make a vital contribution to the charm and character of this location. Enjoy.
