Photographer's Note
A trip to Big White Ski Resort turned up many a fascinating scene. The trees were frozen with snow and ice creating all kinds of figures which they call Snow Ghosts. I could not decide what this one looked like, "Man or Beast?" The sun, blue sky and snow are an easy element to photogragh, the snow offering so much light. All that was done was level the lighting a bit and some cropping.
Hope you enjoy this creature.

These Snow Ghosts are very interesting creations for the imagination. I get the feel that this is some kind of meek little bear with big floppy ears and all of a sudden wham something hits him and what you see here is his head turned and stretched in the impact. And I feel sad because he was minding his own business and this should not have happened to him. That is my take on it.

Hi Laurie
This is the first I have heard of these snow beasts or ghosts. I love it. Thanks to you and PJE I will be on the look out, if we actually get some snow here on the west coast.
Your captured a snow alien, that's what I see. The snow is sparkling and beautiful.
Happy 2010,
Tosca
