Photographer's Note
"Split Personality" is a good way of describing this sand sculpture on display at the Harrison Sand Castle Exhibition this week. The air space down the middle was only about 3 inches wide. The skill and craftsmanship in this sculpture and others on display is quite incredible. I quite liked the colors here and as always, it was a challenge to get an image without unnecessary clutter to distract from its beauty.

Hi Gerald,
That is fascinating to look at. Hard to imagine it is made of sculpted sand. The blue sky and lake backdrop is perfect and the side lighting really makes the image for me.
Cheers!

Une oeuvre d'art qui ne vivra pas longtemps, sauf que par cette superbe photo, tu l'as bien immortalisée sur image.
Parfaites lumières et couleurs.
Amicalement.

Hi Gerald,
I am always admiring in front of these sculpture on sand. Here I wonder how this artist could obtain such right lines, this is fabulous. A very beautiful photograph which pays a nice homage with this work, the good management of the light gives much relief. Well done Gerald

Except that red line which distracts ,the shot is a good one for a beginner in photography.
Keeping it simple you have shown the maturity of a seasoned man, Gerald.
Bisecting in two the craftsman has provided ample opprtunities for the travellers and photographers to enjoy his skill.

Very striking image! The close in view of the sand sculpture is very interesting, allowing us to see lots of nice detail there. I like the lighting too, coming from the side and showing the shape very well, almost in 3 dimensions. Great eye to be able to spot this!

Hi, Gerald. TYes, this is really amazing. The different layers in the sand sculpture give a very good depth to the image. There is a very good contrast between the sand and the blue of the sea and the sky, which makes the sculpture really stand out.
Have a nince weekend,
Philippe

Hi Gerald
Amazing it stands so well being sand, I was first thinking of carved wood, nice image under good light and a limited set of colors that benefits to contrasts.
Have a nice day JY

Hi Gerald:
Love it. There are too few shots of this festival on TE, so it's nice to see a great example such as this. I love that light, as it gives the sculpture such a 3D feel. Excellent.
