Photographer's Note
I look at this Mountain every day when I get home and ask...When is the best time for a winter shot. This was taken just after snow fell in the Valley. I thought by adding a little of the roadway on the bottom would add a little depth and perspective. In photoshop CS I added a little shadow lightlight, and a little USM to offset the softness of the Rebel 300D Kit lens. Comments...suggestions...appreciated..thanks

Nice landscape shot. The roadway does help with the depth, but to the right of the shot looks cluttered and takes my eye away from those fantastic, rugged mountains. The sharpness in the mountains is great. And the sky is awesome too. Personally I would crop a lot of the foreground out at the expense of depth. But you’re on to a superb landscape shot!

One of the things which make this photo strong is the luminosity created on the mountain which differs from that of the valley. It outlines perfectly the details of the mountain which are nice to look at and very sharp. The shape of the clouds are also in harmony with the rest.
Generally, mountains photographed at that distance are in the fog or in the blurr and constitut just a background and the center of interest is elsewhere.
But in the case of this picture, the mountain forms the center of interest, more than the foreground. This is just my personal opinion.

Mt. Cheam is fantastic.
I do like the way you've used the highway in the foreground, it adds a lot in the way of perspective. One thing that kind of bugs me, however, are the two street signs on the bottom. The orange distracts me and I think the photo would have benefitted from their being cropped.
Overall, very nice, and you're right! Being higher up does add something special :)
