Photographer's Note

For me, this lake is absolutely the jewel of the Rockies. Not only the most spectacular of all the lakes we visited on this trip, but the most beautiful lake I have ever visited. I always thought that Milford Sound would take that title (even though not actually a lake!), but I have to say that Moraine Lake pips even there for its jaw dropping beauty.

Hello, Adam--
Another great shot, your strong foreground really makes this one work. The steadily growing trees that defy the top left to bottom right trend of the left 2/3 of this picture is great, and also such a strong foreground that doesn't interfere with the background makes for a very deep composition. 22 seconds? Was that merely for DOF purposes? Regardless, you must have caught quite a windless day, as those trees are tack sharp.

Hi Adam, have never thought of seeing this place in October but your image has changed my opinion. Love the dusting of white throughout this shot, and the incredible clarity is simply stunning.

This photo is indeed jaw dropping! I love this shot of Moraine Lake. I have seen this place many times and in different seasons, but I never seem to get enough of it! Like you say, it must be the most beautiful lake in the world! Besides that this composition is excellent and the lighting is perfect. You have the beautiful blue colour while the peaks and surrounding area has a beautiful dusting of snow! Excellent work, Adam!

Well done again Adam. I think this is possibly your best shot of the Canadian Rockies. I've always wanted to visit this lake myself, but in my four visits to Banff the road has been closed. You were quite lucky. The color of the lake is fantastic, but what makes it unique is the exposure length. The resulting smooth water makes the scene feel even colder and more beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

I've never bought a photo from anyone before as I usually save my walls for my own- but I have to say, I'm seriously thinking about making an offer on this one!

Truly and simply awesome work. I actually find it quite humourous how some 'average' shots on this site can easily accumulate 150 points or more, yet somehting like this gets 56 (at the moment). Just have to shake your head and laugh don't you.
