Stephen Avenue

Another Calgary streetscape. It shows Stephen Avenue, a major pedestrian street in downtown Calgary, which is only open to vehicles between 6 pm and 6 am. It is part of 8th Avenue and is located between 4 Street SW and 1 Street SE. It is home to lots of bars, restaurant, and cafés as well as several shopping centres. It was named after George Stephen, 1st Baron Mount Stephen (1829-1921), first president of the Canadian Pacific Railway.

The building in the background is part of the Bankers Hall complex, seen here is Bankers Hall East. It is 197 metres tall and was completed in 2000.
