Photographer's Note
This was taken at Lake Moraine and the Valley of the Ten Peaks last year in July as the sun was just hitting the top of the Mountains.

Excellent landscape! I like the wide range of light that you were able to capture on this shot. That 3 stop grad filter really must have worked, The details are still visible in the foreground rocks, while the sunlit peaks look great too. Nice composition too, well balanced and interesting. Well done!

Impressive clarity, Derrald! The colors, exposure and composition are excellent (though IMHO, a step forward if it was possible, would have given some breath to the reflected peaks...). Lovely shot!

Hi there,
great landscape, well captured. Like the composition with the trees in the front of the picture and gold light on the top of th e hills. Nice reflection as well.

Really well done. My only quibble is that, though I like the tree in the bottom very much, I wish it weren't in the way of the reflection of the mountain. A few steps to the right might have helped. Also it would be nice to see the top of the peaks in the relfection, so a couple of steps forward might have helped that, too.
Best,
Mike

So magnificent!
One of my favorite photos of Lake Moraine.
The colors are wonderful, the sunrays passing through the grey clouds hitting the top of the mountains is awesome, you got it at the right moment, excellent shot!

Derrald,
This is a stunning picture of Moraine Lake. I have been there several times, but the light has never been that good for me (or maybe my camera is just not that good, or maybe it's just me..hehe). Anyway, great light, great colour, beautiful atmosphere and a fantastic composition.
Greetings,
Ann
PS: It would be nice if you could write some notes with your photos about the technique you use...so we can learn something from you! I would love that. Take care and thanks for sharing!

Great shot. Again, the composition is quite strong. The colors are also nice, especially the contrast between the green of the trees and the colors of the lake. The inclusion of the rocks in the photo is also quite good. You chose the right moment to take the photograph. Even the sun's rays on the mountain is reflected in the water.
Thanks for sharing
