Photographer's Note
Those who get here early enough in the morning or wait long enough in the evening will be treated to this lovely sight: all the brightly colored canoes lined up at the pier, no one around, and (hopefully) great light. I got two out of three here. The light was blocked by clouds at this point.
Unmistakable Moraine Lake. I've never seen its superior elsewhere, and few equals. No picture can convey this scene properly--you just have to visit it to experience it.

Hi Clark,
Maybe you missed the light, but you still can enjoy its reflection against the mountain range and clouds. All in all a wonderfull composition of a very inviting spot. Very tranquil and relax mood. Nice...

Hi Clark
Despite the blocked light an image where the details in the shadows come out well, a good one of this often featured subject
Have a nice day jY

Absolutely gorgeous image. I don't think you missed the light - got different light to what you were looking for, but wonderful light all the same.
The emphasis is squarely on the canoes and the foreground with the mountains and sky secondary. That's quite an achievement in that environment. Every image I see from the area makes me more determined than ever to get back again.

Hello Clark,
A classic landscape from Banff National Park, nothing really original, but technically perfect. Very good light management and great colours. Composing the boats in the foreground was a must. It's a place worth visiting indeed.

Hi Clark,
it definitely seems like a great place! I love what you did with those canoes in the fore ground. The fill in the bottom of the frame nicely. And those clouds and the ray of light are also great finishing touches to this beautiful scenery.

Hi Clark
A classical but beautiful one
I remember that I had to buy a raincoat at the souvenir shop when I went there!
Excellent FG with the display of canoes, very well composed

And the light here doesn't seem so bad at all. :)
This is one of those places where I would run to if it would by a few miles away from here.
I'm used to search for the best light and so I know what you mean. You can only take the best of a place in the "magic" hours.
Nothing more to say beside AMAZING!

Hello Clark,
I think the type of light was perfect here as there are absolutely no harsh contrasts to deal with. The clarity of the air and sun's rays on the peaks are fabulous, and you captured the scene's composition perfectly.
Well Captured...

Hello Clark!
This canadian region is gorgeous, with all those mountains and lakes!
Your composition is classical, but never-ever-exhausting, specially when it's got such a photo quality!
TFS - congratulations!
My warmest regards,
