Little squirrel photographed in the "Marais du Nord" close to Quebec.

In this place, it is possible to nourish bird in our hands (titmouses in particular) and small squirrels like this one.

Quelle petite merveille cette photo, d'bord, l'exploit (je suppose) de voir ce petit animal venir dans la main, et ensuite, en prendre une vue aussi nette, éclairée et vivante. J'adore....
Les couleurs sont très naturelles.

Great detali and good textures on the fur, peannut and fingers as well. The human hand in comparison with the beastie's hand are great fpr scale.

Excellent shot! I really love the perspective you've taken on the squirrel. This is one of those images that's only really possible with a comparitively small sensor digital camera! Your focus is spot on, and I really love the amount of detail you've captured in the squirrels face. Sure, it may be a common animal, but this is brilliant :-D

Rien de bien étonnant, au Québec, les écureuils ne craignent pas de venir chercher la nourriture dans les mains (voire même dans les sacs s'ils sont posés à terre) mais impossibles à attrapper !

Il est d'ailleurs interdit de les nourrir au Mont Royal car même en été, ils viennent vous chercher la nourriture et ne se nourrissent plus de ce qu'ils trouvent sur les arbres.
Je me souviens même d'une invasion lorsque j'ouvrais mon sachet de chips au vinaigre allongé sur l'herbe près du lac aux castors ! Près de 20 de ces curieux étaient venus m'assaillir !
Et de cette marmotte venue en faire de même...

Bref, ta photo est superbe, on croirait même qu'il est empaillé tellement elle est nette. Très bon travail !

Ils ne sont vraiment pas farouches vos écureuils. Ca m'est déjà arrivé d'en nourrir à la main mais pas avec en plus une caméra dans l'autre. Très bien réussi, très net, j'ADORE ses grandes moustaches et son petit oeil coquin.

Ici on retrouve cette belle netteté, tout comme sur l'autre photo de l'écureuil. C'est rare d'avoir une photo de si près de ce petit animal.

Excellently captured moment Jerome...that fraction of a second shared by man and wild animal...

I like the detail of the animals head, the needle thin whiskers, its cheekiness when stealing that peanut, your fingerprints clearly visible, and all frozen with a great DOF.

Over here it is much more difficult to come so close to a squirl; to be honest you have to lure them before they come out. The moment they spot you or they hear something there gone. I find this your best squirl shot. Really a nice, clear shot. Amazing how you can do that with that squirl.

Magnificent shot. Great animal close-up. The DOF works really fine and the sharpness is splendid. Nice posture, cool that the squirrel is tilting his/her head to one side, it gives the photo more dynamics I think. Cute anyway. Good framing and nice natural colours. So cool that it's eating from the hands.
