Photographer's Note

Of Breton inspiration by its massive volume, this house was used as school for the girls and became thereafter the ' House of the bedeau' nickname which remains to him in spite of the fact that it is now a private property. Located at Acadie (now attached to Saint-Jean-on-Richelieu) this house was pilot of a great part of our history. Indeed during the disorders of 1837-1838, of tens of houses were set fire to by the English troops except for some of which this one in the condition that the troops can pass there the night.
