Photographer's Note

Ok, it has been a while since I uploaded a pic from my beloved Quebec city. It's been a while since I uploaded, period.

I always told myself I would NEVER upload a shot showing the Château Frontenac because there are so many all around on the internet. But when I got back home with that one, I thought I should share it with you...

Quebec was founded in 1608, which means that 2008 is its 400th year. People here are making a big fuss around it because it's the oldest french city in America and one of the first city (colony) founded in the "New World". A lot of money is injected by the government to make sure that there will be nice celebrations all along the year. I even heard they paid to have a pink and blue sky over the Château Frontenac during the famous Carnaval...had to verify that with my own eyes...;)

The colors have not been enhanced in the picture (for once!). The "thing" in the bottom is the end of a high slide that attracts daring thrillseekers during the Carnaval de Québec. See this picture by Docarmo
