Photographer's Note

Just a quick remark: I believe the "Event" catogory is not most suitable for your photograph.
I looked also at your other photos and came to a conclusion that this is not one of your strongest photos. However, I have a habit every now and then to take a random uncritiqued photo and say something about it. This time it happened to be yours :)
I think your composition is good. And you can certainly feel the historic atmosphere. What I don't like that mush is that your photo lacks a bit sharpness for my eyes. Also the grain is visible, but here on this photo I have nothing against it, I think it actually adds to your photo. Maybe it would have helped if you shot a bit from a side, so that the bright light would have resulted a bit milder overexposition in the window. Right now even the tip of the cannon is totally overexposed and plain white. Certainly bracketing would have been a fruitdul technique to use here. But I know it's quite time and energy consuming and it can be sometimes hard to predict when to use it or not.
