Photographer's Note
A little walk on the streets of Old Boucherville and you can discouver old houses dating back form the 1800's, nice personagges and religious symbols such as this which confirm the strong presence of the Catholic Church in Quebec and its influence until the 60's. The light, the cross such a mystic atmosphere for me...
"Boucherville is a city located on the St-Laurence south-river, about 20km of Montréal.
Boucherville was founded in 1668 by Pierre Boucher who came originally from Mortagne-au-Perche in France. After had lived in Québec City and Trois-Rivières, Pierre Boucher stabilished hinself on the Percées Islands on automn 1667. It was thre, on the Saint-Laurence river banks that Boucherville started as a city. The first church was built in 1670. The original wood building will be replaced by a stone one in 1712. A little is know about the original building. The Sainte-Famille church that can be found today was built on its place in 1801.
The town wil became a place for vacations at the end of the XIXe beggining of XXe's for Montréalers which arrived by train. (we can fell this vacation atmosphere in some of the houses allong the river-walk)The city had know a growth after the WWII, growth fed by the construction Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine tunnel in the 70's
Boucherville's population nowadays is about 40 000 habitant and the city is a big industriel park in Quebec." (Wikipedia)

Hi Flavia
A beautiful scene against light, well-defined and properly framed.
I much like the silhouettes of trees, accompanied by the router shown on the left, demonstrating that the elements are well placed at the scene, so that they are not an obstacle to cut the sharp light that is presented. Well done.

Olá Flavia,
linda captura! Fotos contra a sol são um desafio e você se saiu muito bem nessa! A cruz foi uma grande adição e se torna o elemento principal da imagem. Parabéns!
Abraço,

hi Flavia
Switching to photography of a country of snow and winter like Canada, you will find different moods of isolation and silent scenes, unlike hot and busy ones of your earlier posts of paradise.
This one is a cold scenic view. I find the buildings a little dark and losing details here.

Flavia,
Tá lindo essa luz toda aí dando sombras e tons nos elementos da sua foto. Interessante o rasto do avião sugerindo um ar seco apesar de toda a neve.
Abraço

Hello Flavia -
This is a very nice image mixing silhouettes, sunset, and a partially lit subject. A difficult composition that you have managed to pull off very well. The lighting and exposure on the cross and the FG snow is well done while the silhouettes of the winter trees and buildings adds to the mood of the scene. The sun area is a bit OE'd but that is to be expected in a scene such as this. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.
