Photographer's Note
I took this photo yesterday. My mother and I decided to go on one of our regular "photo expeditions!"
We were actually on our way to a specific location in the country and came across this site. It was a dark foggy day, and what better than to take photos of train tracks. I thought that the different textures were really interesting (the wood and bolts, the small rain drops collected from the fog...)
Got right down on the tracks for this one.
I forgot about the garbage bag I had packed in case of situations like this. (I hate getting dirty!)

Very interesting subject. I particularly like the great contrast between the top (fuzzy and foggy sky) and the very sharp bottom part of that shot. An interesting atmosphere : By looking this photo, I would like to follow this train tracks to know what's happen "behind". Really well done, congratulations.

You are right. This is an intresting photo. And as you say, its the diffrenses that makes it intresting. That and the depth thats is created by the fog hiding the end of the rail. You have no idea of what is out there.

Anyway ..... really good
Pls take a look at my last photo.

Great shot Pamela! The DOF works wonders together with the fog. The details of the sharp bits are wonderful, the wood grain, the drops and the uneven line of bolts adds some diversity. Hope you didn't get too dirty, but even if you did, this should have been worth it.
That is a very narrow tracked railroad, is it some kind of museum railway?

Dirty?...it looks very clean to me :-)Very interesting presentation...I suspect this is part of a double rail line with this being the space between the two lines because of the narrowness? It is interesting to notice than many of the "spikes" seem to have been lossened by rail vibration.Did you have a hammer with you to bang them back in?:-)

This makes me think of the films where the bad one ties the lady on the railroad track. This is what she sees. Nice details in front and mysterious because of the fog that can hide a train coming.
PS. For your next camera buy one that you can swivel the lens or LCD and avoid having to get down on the ground.

Très bonne idée d'avoir pris ce chemin de fer dans cet angle, si près du sol. C'est une belle réussite, les couleurs sont superbes. Bravo, j'aime beaucoup.
Very good idea to have taken this railway in this angle, if near the ground. It is a beautiful success, colours are magnificent. Bravo, I like very much.

No people to me these are the ties between the rails and it is a standard rail gage for Canada. Her zoom lens must have been set at of 28mm , because that is exactly the effect you would get from that type of lens. Remarkable shot, great vision.

This is a very interesting shot. On a thumbnail, I thought it was a stair. When I learned that it is train track, I am doubly impressed. The DOF is very interesting and the color is almost BW. Great one!

I think this is your most experimental shot yet! Good work, getting dirty is part of the fun of shooting photos!
I like the composition, the repetition of the tracks, the moisture and the low angle work well. However, I would suggest cropping off the bottom third (a little down from the last bolt), I find the gap there doesn't help the framing (I also think the tighter "panoramic" style would help the mood).
Also you mention to your message to Sarastro that it was a bridge and if you walk out a bit you can look staight down between the rails... that sounds like photographic gold! A tad dangerous though... ;)

Very nice too, but i think in B&W it would have been more impresive.
Nice Job

Very nice. At first, I tought this was the rail of a miniature train. The note was really helpful and makes me understand. :)
Good idea for that angle. Nice!

EXCELLENT POV
I LIKE VERY MUCH THE DETAILS YOU MANAGE TO SHOT
THE "WATERS" OF THE WOODS, THE WATER ON THE NAILS, THE FOGGY HORIZON, THE DROPS ON THE RAILS
EVERYTHING HAS BEEN PICTURED FABULOUS
