Photographer's Note

At Severn Falls, the Severn river flows into Georgian Bay with a drop of 18m due to a dam built there for a hydro-electric generating station. The Severn river is part of the the 386km Trent-Severn Waterway linking Lake Ontario with with Georgian Bay. This marine railway was built to get the boats over the dam. In the picture only small pleasure boats are seen, however it can carry big yachts too. I put a picture of the rail car with a bigger boat to the Workshop.
