Photographer's Note

This photo was taken at the Metro Toronto Zoo.

The orangutan lives in the Malaysian islands of Borneo and Sumatra. These areas are made up of swamp-like forests with many trees. The orangutan prefers the lowland of the forest, but as the trees are cut down by loggers, the orangutans are being forced to move to higher elevations.

When you enter this pavillion, you step into an environment that transports you into the middle of a rainforest.

Since young orangutans very playful, taking photos of her was almost impossible, as she was swinging, jumping, and moving so fast!

**Interesting Fact - Orangutans are our second closest relatives. They have 97% of the same genetic make-up as humans. We really need to bring this intelligent animal back to a healthy population.

**Post Pro - Cropped to square format, AutoLevels, and dodged the orangutans fur.
