Photographer's Note
Nuit Blanche, "...A Free All-Night Contemporary Art Thing..."
Across the city for twelve hours from 7pm to 7am Toronto showcase traditional, modern, and interactive art. Two men sneak a kiss on U of T's 'Philosophers Walk' at Fujiko Nakaya's 'Fog in Toronto #71624.'

About the pic: I experimented with lightening the photo a bit, but preferred to keep it dark. Opinions?

Hey Alex,
I don't remember seeing this at the time but that's definitely the same person in my shot! The cross, the caution sign inflated in our faces and that mysteriously blurred kiss in the background-- I prefer what you've done with the lighting compared to my shot; you've kept more of the original atmosphere.
We should definitely put together a theme if we can cobble together enough coverage from the night, I'm sure we have enough combined.

don't know if this is taken during your second tour but I also saw couple of guys getting intimate and wanted to capture that, not succesfully, at least not in the erotic sense. Interesting that you also choose the tape as a main part of your photo, guess great minds (that is you and Mike), think alike, we could have a trilogy but I didn't even think of it, ohh well.
Your shot is also a success, no need to brighten it up, it's all about atmoshpere, good composition with no much detail and plenty of room for imagination, like the dark greenish colour of it.
Did you use some noise removal, shot looks a bit "creamy".

Sounds and looks like a pretty cool event.
Your experimentation has paid off with this one Alex, its as mysterious as you can possibly get and it completely opens up a range of different possible scenarios for the viewer to come up with. Well done.

Another version of cautinary tales of Nuit Blanche...three mad men shooting a mad event, Dali meets Bunuel meets Peter meets Alex meets Mike...what a combo!! Your vision is equally zany, more muted than Mike's, darker than Peter's, equally ambiguous, perhaps more physically erotic in its appeal than mysterious. If you three are left alone for three years in Toronto, you will found a new school of art. What shall we call it?

Hi Alex,
it could be a scene of a movie... I like the experiment of the light.
Something different and creative. I really like this : )
Thanks

Hi Alex,
This is almost like a work of art. The light plays the main role of the artist here. The fog and the shadowy figure is creating a mysterious ambience. Very well captured.
Best regards

Hi Alex (Teh 3rd usual suspect),
Nice to see how you guys approched & captured the same place.
The crossed taped along with the side-lighting and this couple silhouette gives a kind of CSI film-like but in Toronto ... "Murder in the frog" ?
Thanks, Alain -
