Photographer's Note

This is another of Toronto's historic buildings, a.k.a. The Old Vic, it is on the University of Toronto's St. George campus. A Richardsonian Romanesque building, designed by the noted English Canadian architect W.G. Storm (1826-1892), this was his last major commission, he died before the building was completed in 1895. He designed several of Toronto’s prominent buildings, such the University College. At the lower left corner of the picture the man sitting on a bench is the statue of Northrop Frye (1912-1991), he was a famous professor at Victoria Collage. A view from the other (East) side of the building is in the Workshop.
